Myself and Hollie from The Rosehip & Berry have worked together on different weddings and shoots for nearly ten years. During the quieter seasons we’ve had days in my studio simply creating for the love of flowers. We’ve often said we’d love to share that passion and invite others into a world where you create and connect over flowers, simply for the love of it. We’re both strong believers in carving out space to learn and improve in the exchange of skills and ideas with others.
It’s been something we’ve talked about doing for a while now and I’m thrilled to say we’ve finally put our ideas into action – the workshop is live!
Harvest Workshop – 24 October 2023 – Loughcrew Estate, Co. Meath
We are really excited to announce that enrolment is now open for Harvest – our first ever combined floral design and photography workshop. This will be on Tuesday 24 October to celebrate the last of the seasons harvest and the wind down to the dark side of the year. As well as a day of learning we wanted this to be a relaxing experience where the attendees get to sit down at the end of the day and enjoy dinner together in a magical setting. Expect full on Autumn glory with seasonal flowers, fruits, and rich foliage to set the scene. The workshop will be in The Millhouse on the ancient grounds of Loughcrew Estate in County Meath, a part of Ireland steeped in story and history.
Each of the 12 attendees will have everything they need to create a stunning centrepiece bowl. (Flowers, Sakagen florist scissors, wire, floral pinfrog and handmade footed bowl by Ciaran Headley included to take home with you) In the morning Hollie will demonstrate and share insights into her design process and gently guide you throughout in creating your own centrepieces. After lunch we’ll set up a still life using a centrepiece and I’ll share everything I’ve learned in techniques of composition, light, mood and visual storytelling so you can gain a better understanding of how to photograph your own floral creations professionally, creating feeling and atmosphere in your designs. You can watch and learn if you prefer or bring your own camera and take photos.
And to finish…
In the evening we will set the long table together and light the candles for a magical 3-course rustic fire-cooked dinner with the incredible Wilde Dining team. (Vegan options available)
