I’m just back from a workshop in London with the fabulous Marianne Taylor feeling inspired and refreshed and ready to blog some weddings. It’s feels like I’ve been on a blog break forever. Since August and throughout September I have been busy shooting weddings and making sure I stay on top of the editing. My priority has been to have all the galleries available to my lovely clients first, then think about blogging some weddings later. I love this time of year when the season slows down and the kids are back to school. I enjoy spending the cold mornings indoors preparing photos and going through all the wedding stories I have had the pleasure to witness and document. It’s been a good year and I have so much more to come.
I’m making up for the quiet here with a long blogpost of Andrew and Rebecca’s dream Irish castle wedding. I can’t seem to tell short stories! When I first received Rebecca’s enquiry I knew immediately that I wanted to photograph their wedding. It’s not often I get to spend a whole weekend with a couple. This is the edited blogpost. Wedding days go by in a flurry so having those extra two days allowed me to really get to know them. By Sunday, myself and Becca were driving around the castle grounds on a golf cart like besties. I love how this work allows me to make new friends and connections across the world. Andrew and Rebecca came all the way from Canada. With a heritage routed deep in Ireland, they dreamed of getting married in a castle over here. Some of us only dream, but they made it happen. It was a fairytale that came true. Not only that, they brought all their closest friends and family over from Canada to share their joy. Luttrellstown Castle (of Posh and Becks fame) was their setting and it did not disappoint. They truly treated their family to the time of their lives and I could see how much this meant to all of them. It was an emotional weekend. What a blessing to be the one to capture such a special time for them. An incredibly talented bunch of Irish vendors worked really hard to make their dreams come to life. I would like to especially mention Michael Costello – Event & Floral Design for somehow magically filling a huge castle full of flowers and The Sweet Treat Co for the best candy buffet I’ve ever seen.
