I’ve put this photo in my ‘For the love of fields’ section, although technically it’s not a field, but this lake brings me that same sense of contentment and peace that I get from my field shots. Morning is one of my favourite times for being out for walks with my camera.
I enjoy the stillness of dawn mist over the water. A cool and pleasant calm. I hope you feel it too :)
What better date to introduce something different on the blog! I have always felt most at home walking in the fields and I constantly take pictures when I’m out there, drawn by the colours, textures, shapes and the light. Sometimes with the dog, sometimes with the kids, sometimes both. I find it great for shedding all the stresses and strains of a busy life. My troubles feel very small in those wide open places. I love taking clients to fields for portraits (sometimes you don’t need much more than an empty field at the right time of the day), but I’ve never shared many ‘peopleless’ images like this as it is a wee bit different from my portrait work. This is kind of a personal exploration for me. It will be mostly wordless. You are invited to join me in the fields through a series of pictures will be appearing here from time to time. I took these today at 11am, before the rain.
