What better place to be working when the sun is shining than on the beach with the Hamiltons in Portstewart! The kids were loving it. Splashing, digging in the sand, running up and down the dunes. Ian was just looking forward to his mug of tea but somebody forgot the teabags.
Dawn is publisher of ‘Getting Married in Northern Ireland’ magazine and this is her lovely bunch. Seriously, the rest of us only think we’re busy! I don’t know how she juggles everything. But the family still make time to chillax up in Portrush throughout the summer. It was the perfect place to catch them just as they are. I photographed them last year when the twins were just toddling about. They are definitely two wee boys now! Nathan did not stop running for a minute.

On a side note. I probably wouldn’t be a photographer now if it wasn’t for Dawn. I used to work as her designer on the magazine. When I photographed my brother’s Wedding a few years back, Dawn put it in the magazine. Then she got me my first Wedding client and suggested (actually ordered) I go and get a camera and start doing this properly. So I did. I taught myself how to use it on maternity leave from the magazine. And I haven’t looked back. Also, she recommends me to everybody. Thanks Dawn. I owe you one!

I headed out on Monday to photograph this pretty, little woman at five days old. Mia Grace was in a hurry to arrive into the world. In fact, she was in such a hurry that Julieann’s waters broke on the way to hospital and Mia Grace was born on the hard shoulder of the motorway before the ambulance arrived!!!! 8 minutes of labour is not alot of notice. She was delivered by her very brave Dad. Thankfully, there were no complications and she is completely perfect and gorgeous as you can see…

Also, when I arrived at the house there were three gorgeous sisters who were very excited about having a photographer visit. They just couldn’t wait to show me all their toys, and music, and dancing moves. So of course I couldn’t resist taking a few shots. You will see Rebecca, Sophie and Holly again soon because they will be flowergirls at Jenny and Graham’s Wedding next week:)

When I went out on Saturday to capture Hugo and his Mum and Dad, I really could feel alot of that happiness and affection. All of it very real and natural. It was great to be there. Again, I had a sense of how much I love this job. Hugo has just turned one and has also just found his feet! We had an hour together before sleepy time and he made the most of it. This little man was easy going and enjoyed a good giggle. Of course, he is also incredibly cute.x
