Freddie

Freddie – isn’t that the cutest name ever?

We have been organising to do wee Freddie’s shoot since he was born! I met Sharon and tiny Freddie at Estelle’s Wedding last October. He was just born then but we planned excitedly for a shoot. For various reasons we had to keep rescheduling, but I’m so glad because in the end I managed to capture him at a perfect age. This is just the most adorable stage for babies. It’s all about the expressions and the body language! Plus he has all that lovely baby chub and the cheekiest of faces:) There is no doubt his biggest love is tractors. Or as Freddie likes to call them “Tacdorrr”. He really puts the work into saying this too. It’s the funniest thing to watch. I think he was saying ‘Tacdorrr’ before he ever thought of trying ‘Mama’ or ‘Dada’! Here are some cute pictures of the gorgeous Freddie with his family :)

Darci

Brand new Darci. She loves to suck her fingers. It’s the most adorable sound ever. You need all your senses to truly cherish everything ‘baby’. I wish I could bring it all to this blog. The sounds they make. Always unique. Their sweet, sweet smell, the feel of their silky heads, and the softest of cookie-dough skin, squishiest creases and dimples… designed to be treasured in every way. Words can’t describe it. All I have are these pictures…

James

Settle in for a blogpost of complete, newborn yumminess. If your broody, this will not help. Maybe you should check out some of the cute kitten pictures on the web instead. I don’t want to be blamed for contributing to the current baby boom!

Around this time last year, I shared in Claire and Mark’s joy on their Wedding Day. We’ve remained close since the Wedding. Plans quickly turned from Weddings to babies and now I’m delighted to share this new chapter.  Wee James. Freshly baked and chubba-licious! When Claire emailed me last week with the news that he had arrived, I couldn’t get there quick enough.   He had a big feed and I put him on my blankets. He kicked his legs and chewed at this hands for a while before deciding he needed another even BIGGER feed. And then he slept… deep and snug.

Sleep-tight beautiful boy.x

April

It’s always wonderful to be asked back to photograph the first child of my Wedding clients. I’m never too busy for these sessions. They’re very special to me. Seeing clients again that you have come to know and love, and watching how their lives are changing. This is the part of my work that is so meaningful to me. Nothing will ever be the same again for them, just so much better. When you bring a new baby home your excited and scared all at once. It’s just as amazing and as important as your Wedding day. This is Lorraine and Daz’s new baby daughter, April.  She’s so small and perfect at six days old. In April 2010 I photographed their Wedding and now, a year later, we have this tiny miracle of love. It was such a lovely session for me. I could easily have spent all day just looking at her and all her tiny perfection. *sigh* For she was quite content to stay curled up even when she woke. I think once you become a mother, you never get over the babies, and as they get older, you realise even more how precious the first days were. We’ll never get that back again.
