Malamuppies

I know I photograph alot of sleepy babies for a living. But I never imagined I’d be photographing sleepy babies of the canine kind! A snoozing mountain of malamutes!

These are Shadow’s little ones. And every single one of them, a bundle of personality and furry cuteness. I could have spent the whole afternoon cuddling with them. There are eleven puppies in all. A huge litter and a credit to all the hard work that Marcus and Brian put in. I don’t think Marcus slept for the first three weeks. They are the most loved puppies ever, and this week, they are all off to their new homes. Awwww! No doubt, there will be a few tears shed.

Malamutes normally have brown eyes. But there was one pup who came out with blue eyes. This is a complete oddity in the malamute world.  Gerb is one in a million, with a personality to match. It isn’t right to have favourites, but I couldn’t get enough of him. And he is definitely the leader of the pack.  Even when all the other puppies slept, he kept an eye on us.  This lucky little fella will be staying with the Kianna bunch.

This is the biggest of bunch and the pup who caused all the trouble during labour! But a complete teddy bear:)

And this is the smallest.  Don’t be fooled by that innocent face. She is crafty as a fox!

Two pups kissing.

Investigating the strangers…

How could you possibly choose a puppy from this bunch!

Yasmin with Shadow. As you can see, he is not a big bad wolf, but a big gentle giant…
