Lorraine and Gary

I began the Wedding season last week in the company of Gary and Lorraine – a perfect place to start. Lorraine is the most laid-back, relaxed bride I’ve ever met. Such a wonderful girl. She specifically mentioned that she wanted lots of family and friends photographed throughout the day. Such generosity of spirit was typical of these two. This Wedding was gorgeous in the details and style. Parkanaur was magical and the purple/pink tones were a dream. But to me, this wasn’t the only beauty of the day. The beauty was in the true love between family and friends. I really felt the warmth for Lorraine and Gary. They have so many loved ones! It made me want to know them better. There was so much emotion. It was wonderful to be there to capture the joy and the tears…

I overheard Lorraine saying she wanted the kind of flowers she might have picked from the hedgerows as a child. I think Stephen Mallon might have got it spot on:)

Silver tones go so well in this country – they compliment our beautiful slate/grey skys.

Post Ed: Had to take some photos off. It’s taking far too long to load up! Going to have to work on making my file sizes smaller. Apologies.

Look at her grow!

Just flicking through facebook and saw this gorgeous pic of my wee Goddaughter Caitlin. My bro took this with his iphone!  And I stole it from him for my blog. Look at her happy face! She is growing up sooooo fast. I feel another photoshoot coming on…

And thanks Aisling for the giant ‘your a star’ mug. I love it. Coffee in a bucket is a must :) By the looks of Caitlin, maybe she had some too!

I realise there have been a whole lot of couples on my blog recently and an absence of babies. I thought it was time to sort the situation by blogging this rather long, ‘mega-cute-squishy-loveable-dimple-fest’!

You might remember little Hugh on the blog at four months old. Well Hugh has now turned ONE! On Saturday I went up to his house to photograph the big birthday bash. Hugh really knows how to throw a party! I spent alot of the afternoon crawling around in the grass after him and all his chums!  Tough crowd but they are so worth it :) It’s always really lovely to be asked back to photograph a little one again as they grow up.

Yummy cakes made fresh that morning by Candi (Hugh’s mum). Being originally from Arizona, there is American charm in all the details.

It’s a Hugh thing. Crossing your legs at all times.

Ready to play with new toys but keeping a spoon handy in case someone passes with cake.

Everything must pass the taste test at this age.

Candi loves her photos and the walls were filled with all these great moments and stages from Hugh’s first year.

IMG_4392And if that’s not enough cuteness for you, this oughta do it.

Michael and Elaine

There is something about this engagement shoot that just connects with me. When I  was driving up to where Elaine lives my heart did a little flutter. Photographer’s get this sometimes and it’s usually to do with dream locations! I love the beauty of rugged mountains, hills, loughs and places where wild things grow. Michael and Elaine just look so comfortable here. In fact, everything just felt right on this shoot.

Elaine and Michael are both from here but are living in England at the moment. They will be travelling back to enjoy their Christmas Wedding with family and friends. Hope this blog post brings a little bit of home back to you.x

boys and girls

Hello. My name is Niamh. I am 2 years old and cleaning is my favourite thing. I love to get a suddy sponge  and give all these surfaces a real good scrub. Sometimes I like to eat the suds too. My Mum hopes that I am still this interested in cleaning when I am older.

Hello. My name is Seanan. I am four years old and much too busy to clean. I’m a pro-biker in the zone with races to win. My mum hopes that I don’t want to be a pro-biker when I am older.

But we both would do anything for a jaffa cake…
