Ballydougan Revisited

Very recently I had the pleasure of visiting one of my favourite places again to take some photos. If you remember back last year I had a portrait shoot with Ciara
This time round I photographed some of the other members of the team practising their skills. I really wanted to capture all that was involved in the making of the pottery and a little of the character of the place. The tradition of clay throwing fascinates me – and they make it look so natural and easy. Here are some images from the series.

Ballydougan Pottery
is a pretty special place. The pottery is made on site and then wonderful food is served up on it in the restaurant. There are also beautiful, little cottages where visitors can stay.
The place has been getting major works done recently and it now looks even better than ever. I couldn’t get shots of the exterior, because of the renovations, but I’m hoping to go back soon and do a full series of images on all that Ballydougan Pottery has to offer.

Police Academy Five!

I had the best time in ages last night when a few of us girls headed out to an American-themed fancy dress party dressed as NYPD cops.
We absolutely loved these costumes and if any brides-to-be are thinking of ideas for hen nights try this – it was soooo much fun!
The party was in aid of Down Syndrome, people made a fantastic effort and alot of money was raised.
Fav part of the night – kicking Mr. T’s butt!

Needless to say, this cop will be in bed early tonight.

My new friend

I’ve definitely worked my ‘nifty fifty’ to the bone this past year so I decided to treat myself to a nice bit of new glass.

I’m in love and I might never take it off the camera again!

We are family

On Thursday I got to photograph little Beth again – and this time she had company.
If you remember I photographed her when she was about nine months old. She just gets even more gorgeous every time I see her!
Beth had her family visiting from America so we had a family shoot. Beth’s cousin’s, Ellie and Ryan were so full of energy – and constantly on the move! Ryan told me all about Spiderman and showed me his great collection of books and I got to hear Ellie’s lovely singing too! I really enjoyed myself and here are a selection of pics from the shoot.

Just loving being a princess.

Ryan was committed to getting his photos right and managed to keep smiling even when Beth tried to pull his eyeball out :)

Yes, her eyes are naturally this beautiful…

Martha

Just before we sign off for a few days holidays I just wanted share this lovely Easter-themed photo session with little Martha who was absolutely lovely for me.

She was such good fun and loved showing me her beautiful toys. I don’t always get to photograph three generations all at once – but gran, mum and daughter all got snapped.

Making faces at Daddy :)

Thank-you Jane for letting me photograph her. Such a wee sweetie!

Enjoy the holidays everyone.
