Homelife

The family have had coughs and sniffles here this last while so blogging has been pushed to the back burner. I’m spending extra time cuddling and nursing the two of them back to full health. We have Halloween and Niamh’s first birthday coming up this weekend so I’m hoping they’ll be feeling alot better by then.
Last weekend was a little bit chaotic here also. I had lots of tiny ones around me and it looked like an episode of the Rugrats!. Niamh and Senan’s little cousins came to visit from Cork. It was all a bit much for wee Charlie though. He had the cold, he didn’t like the long drive, he was teething, the tea just didn’t taste the same… but runny eyes and nose did not make him any less cuter!

It was hilarious watching Charlie and Niamh together. Just to get the two of them sitting for some pictures was quite difficult as they are always on the go at this age but the Jaffa’s Cakes came in handy. Only one problem. Niamh can polish these off quite quickly and nobody warned Charlie…

Look what I’ve got…

Where did mine go?

Yummy!

Example

Oh, I’m sorry, where you going to eat that?

Example

I also got to take some pictures of little Beth who is just the cutest!

It wasn’t easy unplugging the dummy.

But it was so worth it because she is just adorable.

I had to be quick because the dummy was going back in again…

Oh and not forgetting Nola who has just the cheekiest grin.

I really wish there were more hours in the day or weeks in the year as sometimes it seems impossible to find the time to blog!
But if I only have time to post one image from this week it would be this one…

This photo is pretty much straight out of camera. Sometimes I like to work with an image in photoshop – changing tone, adding texture, popping colours or adding contrast but I didn’t want to overcook this one. Some photos just want to be left alone. It had to be black and white though.

Erin is a wonderful model and I love her steady gaze in this shot.

Karen

Trash the Dress sessions are proving popular with freshly wed brides and I recently had a great time shooting Karen’s – with the help of Paul, her new hubbie of course! The old ruins at Castlecaulfield proved to be an excellent location. I must give Emma(GMINI editor) a big thanks for letting me know of this little gem hidden in heart of County Tyrone. It dates back to the 1600s and is absolutely steeped in history, drama and mood which is perfect for a bridal shoot. We also managed to get a beautiful, dry October evening so that made me one very happy photographer! TTD sessions are really about enjoying your dress (while you still can!) feeling like a star, relaxing and having some fun and Karen was the perfect girl for this… She looked amazing in so many shots hence the long post here.

My favourite thing about this session was the beautiful, relaxed, no fuss style…

I loved it when the sunlight came pouring through the castle windows…

Karen’s dress looked amazing on her. An absolutely perfect fitting.

My favourite shot from the whole shoot was this next one.

It was really quite chilly and although I didn’t hear Karen complain once I’m sure she was glad of the cardigan at the end! It looked really cute with the dress too.

Babies and beanies

I have the remedy to cheer everyone up when its cold, dark and dreary outside.
Light the fire, make some hot chocolate, put on some really furry slippers, turn the TV off (because we really don’t need to hear anymore about the credit crunch) and check out these really cute pics of my little one in her winter woollies…
Guaranteed to brighten up your day – for a little while anyway!

Really cute here… but needs something, hmmm…

I’m loving these big toothy grins:)

My favourite hat at the moment…

Lots of chat…

I love her little moonpie face…

Then I put the hat on and she was trying to grab it. She always sticks her tongue out when she is concentrating…

More ramblings…
Thanks to Julie for knitting the hats. No doubt I’ll be back soon for more.
Keep an eye out for Karen’s TTD shoot coming later this week.
A feature coming soon on Saturday’s fryups for Eva in Spain!
Can I just say to the makers of weetabix (If your reading this of course) – have you thought about producing for the building trade because when this stuff hardens on walls its acts like cement and is almost impossible to shift as I found out earlier this week!
I finally updated my song for week which really should be called song for the month! Check it out.
Oh and did I mention already that I can’t wait until halloween? Yipeee!!

Claire and Jason

Last weekend I had a great time capturing Claire and Jason on their beautiful autumn engagement shoot. The location was Tanaghmore Gardens which is kind of like a photographer’s garden! I’m really looking forward to their wedding next year as this couple really do seem to love each others company and I had so many pictures of them, having a laugh and just being so natural and relaxed together it was nearly impossible to choose!
Oh and Claire, I promise to save you the hilarious shots I didn’t include here of you and Jason getting off the swings!
