Aisling

So finally my first ‘Trash the Dress’ session or as I like to call it ‘Shoot the Dress’ as there isn’t much trashing going on in this one.
What is ‘Trash the Dress’ I hear you say. Well… take one blushing bride, one beautiful dress, and one chosen location, then let your imagination run riot. TTD can be as tame or as wild as you make it. You might want to visit your local mechanic’s garage ‘all grease and grime’ or visit your favourite beach and wade into the sea – dress and all! More often than not though its a chance for you to don the dress again and have your very own fashion shoot. The name can be misleading – your dress only gets dirty if you want it to. Your TTD session can be weeks after the wedding or a even a year later.
I photographed Aisling and Michael’s wedding last April and really enjoyed it. For Aisling’s ‘TTD shoot’ we chose Ballydougan Pottery as the location. Everything was perfect – a beautiful bride and a wonderful warm, hazy mid-summer’s evening. Aisling is one of the lucky ones who can still get into her dress a year later. My own dress has been banished to the attic and I doubt it will make another appearance any time soon unless my craving for coffee and choc chip muffins suddenly disappears! Check out Aisling’s shots…

All work – no play

Yes I know I should be blogging more often than this but nothing ever goes as planned when you have kids about! Expect ‘blog bursts’ from me and then long dry spells.
My nine months maternity leave is officially over (sob!!) I have started back on our magazine ‘Getting Married in Northern Ireland’ and have had to put my designer’s head back on again. I’m kind of enjoying the buzz of a busy publishing house at the minute… although on deadline day I may be feeling differently!
Niamh has settled in really well at daycare and we are now calling her ‘ate all’ as this is how her daily report reads. She is a vacuum these days and crawling everywhere. I give it two weeks and she will be standing! Seanan on the other hand is not impressed with playgroup and it looks like it’s going to be a struggle to get him convinced.
I have been missing my camera soooo much too. I did manage to squeeze in a ‘Trash the Dress’ session though so look out for an upcoming post on this!
