Park Life

Not far from where we live there is an excellent local park. It has a great assault course for kids and its high on Seanan’s list of favourite places. On Monday we took a trip there and had a lot of fun tackling the different rope ladders, slides, tunnels and swings. It was a dry day and the sun wasn’t too bright so perfect for taking a few shots. The colours of some of the swings and slides are very vibrant and great for adding contrast. I just wish I had chosen a more suitable t-shirt for the little man as it clashed a bit with some of the greens and reds.
It can be difficult keeping up with them at that age. Every time I get him framed he moves! But on a more positive note, toddlers are great because they are totally themselves in front of the camera and just living life to the full!

As you can see…

Here he is in the middle of daydream… I often wonder what goes on in there!

I was experimenting with new vintage effects on this image…

His favourite part of the day was feeding the pigeons…

Today it was stormy outside and a bit like winter again so I decided to light the fire and have an indoor day with the family. Dessie (my hubbie) made a garage for Seanan (my 2 year old son) out of cardboard to house his every growing collection of cars. He was thrilled to bits with this but Niamh had other ideas for it. She was going to snack on it (cardboard must taste yummy!) and then turn it into a soggy, pulpy mess so I decided to make her more useful.

We went into the bathroom with a woolly hat and had a mini photoshoot. I lined the bathtub with white pillows and popped her in it. The shiny white surface through lots of lovely white light back into her face and she was having fun so there were lots of smiles all round.!

Here’s a wee pic or two of the result…

And another showing the two cardboard choppers at the bottom…

Holidays

I have just got back from a week in Co. Donegal – the beautiful, wild west coast of Ireland.
It was wild but unfortunately also very wet. A bit of a wash out for the family and there really isn’t much else out there but the beautiful scenery. My mum and dad had joined us also and I think we were all going a little bit stir crazy trapped in the house by Wednesday. We headed to Glenveagh National Park to brave the weather. It is an absolutely stunning location and well worth a visit.
I was really hoping to get a lot of shots of the mountains, lakes and valleys but it wasn’t to be. Every time I took my camera out the rain started sideways. Niamh (My baby girl) was loving it as she was warm and snug in the pram with the cover on. We quickly retreated to the car and drove the 100 miles back home – 3 days early! I have included some pics from Ards Beach Park as the wee man had alot of fun collecting shells with granda!

The next holiday we’ll have a bad weather plan B!

Seanan having a cuddle with Dad…

Will we keep this one Mum??
