Glenn & Stacey ~ Malone House Wedding
Since the moment I met them, I knew I wanted to photograph this wedding. Not just because it promised to be gorgeous and fun, but because of how they were together. So in love, excited for the future and completely right for each other.
I’ve gotten to know Stacey now since she started planning and even more so because I photographed Stacey’s sister Hannah’s wedding last year. I also photographed her bridesmaid (Jenny and Graham) wedding back in 2010! You might recognise that little beetle. They kindly loaned it for the day. Graham was chauffeur and such a big help to me in the pouring rain. He’ll be ducking out of the way when he sees me at Julie and Harry’s wedding on Saturday. I owe him big time! It was so good to get back and photograph this group. They really are as much fun as they look and they made this wedding one of my all-time favourites.
Stacey and Glenn were true to themselves throughout. Everything they mentioned about their plans for the wedding was exactly how it turned out. Stacey has a thing for ‘bows’ and you can see it in all the little details – the dress, the earrings, the shoes she designed herself, even the perfume bottle! Glenn has a thing for Star Wars. Okaaaaaay…. not sure if this was part of Stacey’s plan, but it was a sure sign she loves her man when she let him have the Imperial March play as they left the church :)
I adore everything about this wedding. The fun, laid-back DIY feel to it, the retro 50’s style, Stacey’s beehive, the groom’s style, the tableplan with the names of Elbow songs, the laughter, the tears, the hugs and the smiles. It rained most of the day (as it usually does here!) but being a May wedding there was colour and florals everywhere and we made the most of the great outdoors.
To Stacey and Glenn, a most awesome couple, I wish you all the future happiness you deserve. And maybe someday when you’re old and grey, you can renew your vows dressed as Han Solo and Princess Leia on a galaxy far, far away ;) x
